a sports entry!!!

I know this is an entertainment blog, but every know and then I would like to do a sports entry.  In my NCAA tourney with the gang I am in 3rd place!!!  Don't know how that happened with my picking of SDS and Pitt in the final four!!! My early picks must of helped!!!

I am still very upset that CU did not make the tourney but they are kicking ass in the NIT.  Go Buffs!!!

Looks like that Nuggets trade to NY sure did work out for us, but not so good for the Knicks!!!  Ha!!!!

I sure do hope that this NFL lock out ends soon.  Don't know what I will do without football in the fall!!!  Ugh!! I do like the hiring of John Fox to my Broncos.  I really think he will turn around this team.

reviews and comments

Well, have seen some movies over the last couple of weekends.  Saw Hall Pass and Battle: LA.

Hall Pass was much better than I anticipated!!!  It was funny and heartwarming.  Jason Sudeikis is turning into a really funny movie actor.  Owen Wilson was really good as well.  And I love Jenna Fischer!!!  It was your typical ranuchy Farrely Brothers movie.  There are some really gross momments, but some hilarious ones as well.

Speaking of the Farrelly bros, I still think that KingPin is very under rated!!!  I think it should of done much better at the bo than it did.  Very funny movie!!!

Battle: LA is your typical alien, destoy earth, movie.  There are some good action scenes.  Dialogue is cheesy!!!  Aaron Eckhart was good.  If you want to see a great Aaron Eckhart movie see In The Company of Men.  He is evil in that movie!!!!

Catching American Idol now.  Man that James Durbin is awesome.  I think it is going to come down between him, Casey, and Pia.

The Event is getting really good as well.  Good ep last week.  I also thought that V had a pretty good season finale.  Hope both of these shows come back.  And please, please, bring back Fringe!!!!  One of the best shows on TV right now!!!!  Do you all agree????

Took the kids to see Rango.  I thought it was great!!!  The kids loved it as well.  Is there nothing that this Johnny Depp can't do!!!  The animation was unbelievable.  The voice cast was great.  It was funny and heart warming.

Going to go see Hall Pass this evening.  Will share my thoughts on that one later.

Also looking forward to the new season of Celebrity Apprentice.  Should be a good one with Gary Busey, Meat Loaf, and Richard Hatch!!!  What a line up.

oscars wrap up

well, not so bad on my picks.  Only two that i missed, of the big ones, were supporting actress and director.  All in all, not so bad of an oscars show.  I actually liked Anne Hathaway.  She was good.  James Franco seemed stoned the whole night!!!  Billy Crystal was great.  He really needs to come back and host!!!  The Bob Hope part was pretty cool as well.

There are some great flicks coming out.  Should be a good summer at the movies!!!

the oscars!!!

Well it's just about that time!!!  Oscars announced tomorrow night.  I will now make my predictions:

Original Screenplay: Kings Speech
Adapted Screenplay:  Social Network
Animated Feature:  NO QUESTION it will be Toy Story.  Did not see train your dragon, or the illusionist.
        cant believe Despicable Me wasn't nominated.  I thought it was great!!!  But Toy Story was great too!!!

Director:  David Fincher

Supporting Actress:  Hailee Steinfeld.  This is where the Oscars go way out in second field!!!!

Supporting Actor:  Christian Bale.  He was amazing!!!

Actress:  Once again, NO QUESTION!!!  It will be Natalie Portman.  Unbelievable performance!!!

Actor:  Ok, just got home from seeing Kings Speech.  Colin Firth was amazing.  He will win.

Picture:  Man, this is tough.  I have seen 6 of the movies.  Toy Story, Kings Speech, Black Swan, 
            The Fighter, Inception, and The Social Network.  They are all great, but I really think that Kings
            Speech will win.  It is a great and heartwarming story.  If it was up to me, i would give it to Black
            Swan.  Just a bizarre, disturbing, unforgettable movie!!!!

Also, have to say, that I can't believe that I really had no interest in seeing Kings Speech.  Boy, I was wrong on that decision!!!!  What a great film.  Much, much, better than I anticipated!!
